Two Google searches' produce same Carbon-di-oxide as boiling a kettle

Its too dangerous to use google beacuse it produces Co2 and we know carbon-di-oxide is very dangerous to our health
Environmental experts warned that browsing a website like Google could cause as much damage to the environment by generating more carbon dioxide as the aviation industry.
If you do a Google search once, it generates about seven grams of carbon dioxide -- about one half of boiling a kettle of water for tea, which produces about 15 grams.
The CO2 emissions are caused by the electricity that is required to power a user’s computer and the electricity that is used by Google’s servers or other website’s servers. The electricity is mostly generated by fossil fuels which then emit more CO2 into the atmosphere.
Environmental experts not only blame Google but the entire information technology industry. According to Gartner, an American research firm, the IT industry produces about two percent of global CO2 emissions and their carbon footprint exceeded aviation industry for the first time in 2007.
Dr. Alex Wissner-Gross, a physicist from Harvard University, has calculated how much a single visit to a website produces CO2. It produces about 0.02 grams of CO2 for every second they are viewed. If the site has more multimedia features, then it will produce even more CO2 amounts close to 0.20 grams.

Dr. Wissner-Gross blames Google for causing the bulk of the CO2 emissions. Google has multiple servers around the world to make their results reach users faster. But all these servers are producing more CO2 emissions.
Dr. Wissner-Gross told
Guardian:
Google operates huge data centres around the world that consume a great deal of power. A Google search has a definite environmental impact. Google are very efficient but their primary concern is to make searches fast and that means they have a lot of extra capacity that burns energy.
Another site Carbonfootprint.com also has found Google search produces CO2 emission between 1g and 10g.
A Google spokesman responded and said that they have the efficient servers in the world.
But as
TechCrunch points out Google searches saves you time otherwise you have to visit multiple website or go to a nearest library and get books, which may produce a deeper carbon footprint than Google. Similarly Google Transit (street view) helps save miles, otherwise one gets lost and drives more in the process.
Besides Google has some of the best energy efficient servers in the world, they use five times less energy than other data servers according to
Tree Hugger. And Google has implemented the following energy plan for their servers:
Before the end of 2008 two of our facilities will run on 100% recycled water, and by 2010 we expect recycled water to provide 80% of our total water consumption. We also carefully manage the retirement of our servers to ensure that 100% of this material is either reused or recycled.
They use water to cool the servers by absorbing the heat from the servers.

Better use Yahoo, rediff, msn or any other and if you want GOOGLE you can use the friendly version of GOOGLE i.e http://www.blackle.com/
